Intensives

Does this sound like you…

“I feel like my 55 min session is not enough”

“By the time I update my therapist on weekly events I am not able to get to my root problems and patterns”

“I have been doing therapy for sometime but I am ready to go deeper and make some shifts in my life.”

“I am ready for transformation in a few days versus years in therapy.”

Who are Intensives a best fit for?

Sometimes you want to have a breakthrough in a more accelerated time compared to weekly sessions that can continue for months and sometimes years.  Within this focused time, we use EMDR, EMDR+IFS, or Brainspotting to work on specific issues that have happened in the past that still stay with you.

Intensives allow for quicker shifts and lasting transformation..

Therapies Used in Intensives

EMDR

uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping) while also focus on the distressing memory to clear the heavy emotions, images, and body sensations attached to this difficult event. We do not get rid of the memory but properly bring into your long term memory so that it does not feel so connected to your present.  Click here to read more about EMDR.

EDMR +IFS

combines these two powerful therapies of EMDR and IFS to allow you to understand your internal system – the parts that were created to protect you from the pain of the distressing event that occurred.  Relaxing your internal parts allows us to then work through the distressing event with EMDR reprocessing.  Click here to read more about EMDR+IFS.

Brainspotting

is a form of therapy that allows you to access the subcortical area of your brain, deep in the amygdala where the trauma is stored. With the use of a pointer your brain spot is found.  A brainspot is the spot in your field of vision that provides direct access to the trauma storage spaces in the brain. After finding this spot you are able to process the distressing event or emotion and feel a significant decrease or alleviation of distress. Click here to read more about Brainspotting.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Insurances do not seem to cover intensives. However, you can always reach out to your insurance company to inquire about coverage for intensives.  As an out of network provider, a superbill can be provided upon request for you to provide to the insurance company.

  • Intensives are priced at a higher fee of $375 per hour due to this being a premium personalized service.  Intensives require the therapist to provide increased work and optimal clinical care in a short period of time. This shorter intense structured care requires increased clinical acuity and energy for the therapist, leading to a higher rate.  All fees will be clearly discussed during the free consult call and a Good Faith Estimate will clearly delineate all fees for services.

  • If your current therapist is not providing EMDR, Brainspotting, or Internal Family Systems work then we can collaborate with your therapist regarding your clinical care. You can do the intensive work with us and also continue your regular sessions with your therapist.

  • If you are experiencing any crisis situations it will harder to do the deeper work as the current focus needs to be on stabilization. You can reach out again when you are no longer in crisis.  Please click here to see a list of resources you can access if you need extra support at this time.
